Likewise, the record of marriage of Susanna Elisabetha Venter to Johann Carl Leppla (Gangloff, 16 May 1741) indicates that her father is Johann Philipp Venter of Roth. It is assumed that these women are sisters, both being daughters of the same Philipp Venter of Roth. Further evidence is needed to make this assumption conclusive.
A piece of substantiating evidence is found in the Baptism record of Susanna Elisabetha Mattern, daughter of Anna Catharina. One witness of that baptism was a Susanna Elisabetha, daughter of Philipp Venter of Roth. Could this be Anna Catharina's sister?
Then there is a third marriage record, that of Johann Peter Venter, which indicates the grooms father is Philipp Venter of Roth, and he is being included here as well. |
