     Johann Oswald Liebermann was born on 14 March 1786; The record of Johann's marriage to Eva Schmidt indicates that he was born on 15 Feb 1786. However, a birth record for a Johann Liebermann, born on 14 Mar. 1786 was received from the Evang. church in Oberlind. That will be the date of birth I will use untill other evidence appears.

The Coburg Bürgerliste of 1860 indicates that Johann was born on 15 Feb 1782. His death record also indicates this date. Since both the Bürgerliste and the death record information were both provide after Johann's death, possibly by someone who didn't know for sure, I origanilly used the 14 Feb birth date on Johann's marriage record, because I believed it was undoubtedly provided by Johann himself, who should know best. Perhaps the researcher who sent me the transcript of the marriage record made a mistake. He married Elisabetha Baumann circa 1810; The record of Johann's marriage to Eva Schmidt indicates that he was married previously to Elisabtha Baumann.      Johann Oswald Liebermann's LDS Familysearch Family Tree ID is: KZFY-M2S. THE WEIGOLD FAMILY RECORD records Bertha's (Margaretha) father's name as Nickoloes. On her marriage certificate Margaretha claims that her father's name is John. On her record of birth her Father is shown as Johann. This birth record also states the Johann is a "herzogl. Flossholzdiener" from Hohnbach.

In the 1880 census, Margaretha states that her father was born in Saxony.

Ref: Untersiemau Trauregister 1843, p.69 #10 - Marriage: Liebermann/Schmidt. He was a Herzoglicher Flößholzdiener, which means a member of the Duke's river wood service or lumber worker.

He married Susan Nix before 1875 at New York, New York. Johann Paul Carl Liebermann died before 1900.
     He immigrated on 28 November 1870 to New York City, New York; Carl arrived in New York on 28 Nov 1870, on the ship Columbus which sailed from Bremerhaven, Germany. He made the trip with his mother Eva.

This agrees nicely wiith the Coburg Bürgerliste of 1860, which notes the fact that Carl was given a pass to emigrate to America on 13 Oct 1870. He was a Carpenter. He appeared on the census of 16 February 1892 at Brooklyn, Kings, New York.

     Julia Liebermann was born on 18 December 1875 at Brooklyn, Kings Co., New York. She married Louis Frank Schnepper, son of Gotfried Schnepper and Margaret A.      Margaretha Liebermann's LDS Familysearch Family Tree ID is: LCT3-RMW. Margaretha is the matriarch of the Weigold family in America, but was better known as Bertha. She was christened Margaretha on 21 July 1854 in Coburg, but used the name of Bertha, at least after her marriage. Her name is given as Bernardina on her marriage certificate recorded in New York on 15 May 1873.

THE WEIGOLD FAMILY RECORD indicates that Bertha was born in Thuringen, Coburg. In the 1880 census, she claims she was born in Saxony, as were both of her parents. Her marriage certificate states that she was born in Sax-Coburg. However, her birth record has been found in the city of Coburg, which was in the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha at that time. Today, it is in the German state of Bavaria.

In the 1900 census, she claims she immigrated to the U.S. in 1874, but that can't be right, since her marriage certificate was recorded in New York City in 1873. She actually arrived in New York on 18 Sep 1869 on the ship 'Weser' from Bremen, when she gave her age as 22 yrs.

Bertha is buried in the family plot in the South Cemetery, in Tolland Connecticut.

She immigrated on 18 September 1869 to New York City, New York Co., New York; Passenger List entry for the ship Weser states that a Bertha Liebermann, age 22 (actual age would have been 15), from Coburg, arrived from Bremen, Germany on 18 Sep 1869.

This correlates well with a notation made in the Coburg "Bürgerliste", that states that Bertha was given a pass to emigrate to America on 11 Aug. 1869. Her marriage record shows her name as Bernardina; Margaretha used the name of Bernardina on her marriage record. The reason for this is unknown, but it should be noted that the Godmother listed on her Baptism record was a Bernhardina Bauer. She probably used the name of Bernardina in remembrance of her Godmother. This is the only known instance where Margaretha used the name of Bernardina. She appeared on the census of 11 June 1900 in the household of August Johann Weigold at Tolland, Tolland Co., Connecticut.

Susan Liebermann married Oliver S. Coffin, son of Chase Coffin and Katie Tilful, on 8 September 1928 at Richland Co., Illinois. Susan Liebermann married Eugene E. Reinhard.
