| Note* | 16 September 1867 | The name of the town Marie was born in (Schiltigheim) was supplied by Walt Deutsch (Fullerton, Calif.), who found this information recorded in his father's Bible. This has been verified through the LDS records.
Family history has it that Marie and her husband, John, immigrated to the U.S. in March 1888. This date is fairly certain since it is said that they had to weather the Blizzard of 1888 while on the ship. After looking several times, the record of their arrival in N.Y.C. was finally discovered. There ship was the Rhaitia and it arrived in New York on 19 Mar 1888 after leaving La Havre, France on 7 Mar 1888. See passengers #767 & #768 of the list of aliens for that arrival.
Marie become a naturalized citizen in Bergen Co. New Jersey in 1924.
She died in a nursing home in Manchester, Connecticut in 1967, just five months short of her hundredth birthday.
